The primary objective of the current programme is to support whānau to nurture the early development of their tamariki, establishing a strong foundation for health and wellness throughout life. The programme provides the opportunity for early intervention through referrals to other primary, specialist or intensive health and social services.
We weigh and measure the babies and toddlers and offer support and education around many topics such as breastfeeding, safe sleep, nutrition, oral health and behavior, to ensure these tamariki grow and develop to their full potential.
- Growth & development health checks from birth to 5 years, by a well child nurse.
- Scheduled support for the child and parent with links to other assistance at PTO
- Home visits to connect with mothers and babies from 6 weeks of baby’s birth. Links with Lead Maternity Carers (LMCs)
